Raipur Literature Festival 2026: Free bus service to facilitate visitors to Raipur Literature Festival

Raipur: In order to ensure smooth participation of citizens, literature enthusiasts, students and youth, a free bus service will be initiated during the Raipur Literature Festival. The initiative aims to ensure that no one is deprived of attending the major literary event due to transportation constraints. The free buses will provide safe, convenient and hassle-free travel to the festival venue.

The service will operate for three consecutive days—January 23, 24 and 25, 2026. All bus services on these days will be completely free, enabling the public to attend the festival without any additional expense. The facility is expected to particularly benefit students, senior citizens and literature lovers.

According to officials, around 15 buses will be deployed under the free service. The buses will operate in both directions—to and from the festival venue—to ensure smooth dispersal of visitors after events. The fleet size has been planned to handle peak-hour crowds efficiently.

To connect maximum areas of the city, six major routes have been finalised. These routes will link different parts of Raipur to the festival venue at Purkhouti Muktangan in Naya Raipur. All buses will operate from Old Raipur to the venue. The buses will also carry special Raipur Literature Festival branding, creating a festive atmosphere across the city and enhancing public awareness about the event.

The detailed bus timetable will be released shortly and publicised through multiple platforms to enable citizens to plan their travel accordingly. The administration has assured that the service will be operated in a timely, safe and well-organised manner.

The Raipur Literature Festival is a significant initiative aimed at showcasing Chhattisgarh’s rich literary and cultural heritage on the national stage. The free bus service has been introduced to maximise public participation and establish the festival as a broad-based cultural event with active involvement from all sections of society.
