Raipur Nagar Nigam Budget: Raipur Municipal Corporation Mayor Meenal Chaubey presented the first budget of her tenure on Friday 28, 2025 . She said that this budget is beneficial. This will give impetus to many schemes.
Raipur Nagar Nigam Budget: Mayor Meenal Chaubey presented the first budget of Raipur after the elections in the Municipal Corporation. Many development works will be done in the city with Rs 1528 crore 73 lakh 83 thousand. The Mayor said that taking forward the resolution of good governance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, work will be done towards making the Municipal Corporation financially strong and the schemes effective. This budget is for all sections and the city residents will get its benefits. Total estimated income: Rs 1462 crore 41 lakh 87 thousand
Revenue collection target: Rs 251 crore 91 lakh 22 thousand
Capital income: Rs 856 crore 58 lakh 42 thousand
Income from deposit work: Rs 46 crore 17 lakh 25 thousand
Total expenditure estimate: Rs 1528 crore 73 lakh 83 thousand
Possible savings: Rs 79 lakh 45 thousand
Budget expenditure of previous years under question
Mayor Meenal Choubey said that in the last few years the budget of the Municipal Corporation has been big, but it could not be fully utilized. Last year the budget of 2024-25 was 1901 crore 31 lakh 93 thousand, but only 819 crore 19 lakh 30 thousand were spent.
Earlier 2023-24: Budget of 1608 crore 74 lakh 43 thousand, but only 889 crore 66 lakh 87 thousand was spent.
2022-23: Budget of 1475 crore 15 lakh 23 thousand, out of which only 980 crore 58 lakh 90 thousand were spent.
Mayor’s claim – Development plans will get momentum
Mayor Meenal Choubey said that this time the budget will be spent in a planned manner, which will give impetus to the cleanliness of the city, drainage, road construction and smart city projects. He talked about giving priority to transparency and accountability, she added.
