Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday ,September 8, 2026 met Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh at his residence in Raipur, with the two leaders discussing major projects expected to strengthen the State’s industrial and economic landscape.
The discussions focused prominently on the proposed gas-based fertiliser plant of GAIL (India) Limited in Rajnandgaon, besides the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) 2.0 and other initiatives connected with investment, manufacturing and employment generation in Chhattisgarh.
Sai said the proposed fertiliser project could become an important catalyst for Rajnandgaon and its surrounding areas by generating direct and indirect economic opportunities.
“The proposed gas-based fertiliser plant of GAIL (India) Limited in Rajnandgaon will prove to be an important project in advancing the region’s industrial development,” Sai said.
He said the benefits of a major industrial project would extend beyond employment within the plant itself, with opportunities expected to emerge in ancillary industries, services and other commercial activities.
“The project will create new opportunities for employment and self-employment at the local level while also encouraging ancillary industries and business activities,” the Chief Minister said.

Sai said the government was working continuously to create an industry-friendly environment and encourage new investment in Chhattisgarh.
“Along with expanding industries with new potential, we are promoting modern technology and high-value manufacturing in the State,” Sai said.
He described Electronics Manufacturing Cluster 2.0 as an important initiative in positioning Chhattisgarh as an emerging destination for electronics and advanced manufacturing.
The approach reflects the State government’s attempt to broaden Chhattisgarh’s industrial base beyond its traditional strengths and link future investment more directly with technology, manufacturing and employment.

Sai also emphasised coordination between the Centre and the State in attracting large industrial projects.
