Raipur: A delegation of 120 rehabilitated youth who renounced the ideology of Maoism and embraced the path of the Constitution visited the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly to directly observe the democratic process on Friday February 27, 2026 .

The youth closely watched the proceedings of the House and gained an understanding of the functioning of the democratic system. The educational tour of the Assembly proved to be an inspiring and guiding experience for them.

During their visit to the Assembly premises, the group had a cordial interaction with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Welcoming them with a warm “Jai Johar”, Chief Minister Sai said the State Government wholeheartedly commends all those who have taken the decision to undergo rehabilitation. He assured that the government would pay special attention to ensuring the safety and dignity of rehabilitated youth.

Chief Minister Sai said it is the State Government’s priority to ensure that all rehabilitated youth are able to live with dignity in the mainstream of society and become self-reliant. With this objective, the rehabilitation policy is being implemented effectively, he said .

He remarked that today the presence of rehabilitated youth who are standing today in the temple of the Constitution and witnessing democratic proceedings after abandoning the path of violence is proof that change is possible. He encouraged the youth to avail maximum benefits of education, self-employment opportunities and various government welfare schemes, the CM added.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said the State Government wholeheartedly welcomes those youth who have left the path of ‘Gun’-tantra and returned to the mainstream of Ganatantra- choosing democracy over gun culture, he added.

He said the constitutional path is the path of peace, development and prosperity. The State Government is continuously striving to ensure dignified lives, employment and skill development for rehabilitated youth. He expressed confidence that these youth would become agents of positive change in society and inspire others to return to the mainstream, Dy. CM Sharma added.

On the occasion, Finance Minister OP Choudhary, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav, Culture Minister Rajesh Agrawal, Skill Development Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, MLA Kiran Singh Deo and Sushant Shukla also interacted with the rehabilitated youth and assured them that the government stands firmly with them.

The rehabilitated youth also shared their experiences, stating that the opportunity to closely observe the democratic system was highly inspiring for them. They resolved to actively contribute to the development of society while remaining within the framework of the Constitution and the law.

Notably, the 120-member delegation comprises 66 men and 54 women participants. The group has arrived in Raipur as part of a three-day educational tour, during which they are gaining exposure to various administrative systems, functioning mechanisms and developmental initiatives of the government.

Today, the interaction with 120 rehabilitated youth who abandoned the ideology of Maoism and embraced the path of the Constitution in the Chhattisgarh Assembly was extremely satisfying. The state government heartily congratulates all those who have decided to rehabilitate. The government will ensure the safety and dignity of the rehabilitated youth.

The state government’s priority is to ensure that all rehabilitated youth can live a respectable life in mainstream society and become self-reliant. To this end, the rehabilitation policy is being effectively implemented. Leaving the path of violence and witnessing the democratic process today in the temple of the Constitution is proof that change is possible.
