- Success Achieved Through Transparent Management and Technological Innovation
Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Government of Chhattisgarh has achieved a remarkable milestone in the mineral sector by prioritising transparency, technological innovation, and robust management.
P. Dayanand, Secretary of the Mineral Department, stated that Chhattisgarh achieved 98 percent of its target in the financial year 2025–26 by generating mineral revenue of ₹16,625 crore—a direct result of good governance, effective policy implementation, and a strong monitoring mechanism.
This achievement is not only a testament to effective administrative strategies but also reflects the inherent strength of the state’s mineral-based economy. Dayanand added.
This year, a year-on-year growth of 14 percent was recorded in mineral revenue, which is more than double the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 6 percent observed over the previous five years. This surge underscores the success of the reformative and technological measures adopted by the state government, Chhattisgarh’s mineral resources department secretary P Dayanand affirmed.
Key factors contributing to this growth in mineral revenue include the effective optimisation of dispatch routes for NMDC and other Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Additionally, significant improvements in transparency, monitoring, and operational efficiency have been achieved through IT-based platforms such as ‘Khanij 2.0’.
In the upcoming financial year, the state government will place special emphasis on integrating minor minerals into the ‘Khanij 2.0’ platform, aiming to digitise and unify the entire mining ecosystem, Dayanand noted.
Additionally to further strengthen the monitoring of mineral transportation, systems such as VTS (Vehicle Tracking System), Check Gates, and drone-based surveillance will be implemented on a more extensive scale, P Dayanand said .
The objective of the Chhattisgarh government is to ensure sustainable growth in revenue while upholding transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the management of mineral resources. “These efforts will not only strengthen the state’s economic position but also ensure the availability of resources for development works.” — Vishnu Deo Sai, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh
