Raipur: A 3-kilowatt solar installation on Rohit Gupta’s roof in Balrampur is helping his family meet its electricity needs and spend less on power. Gupta, a resident of Ward 15, installed the system under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai sent Gupta and his family greetings through Vishnu Ki Paati on Chhattisgarh’s State Foundation Day. In his letter, Sai said a decision made with the household budget in mind can bring particular satisfaction when it begins to pay off. Lower electricity costs, he noted, can leave more room for other family expenses.
Sai said the scheme, launched at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative, was helping households generate electricity from their own rooftops and make greater use of clean energy. He added that Gupta’s experience could give neighbours and acquaintances a practical example as they weigh whether to install solar panels themselves.
