The US Home Ministry has warned employees that polygraph tests will be used to prevent government confidential documents from being leaked

Home Minister Kristi Noem said that employees will have to undergo this test at all costs. Home Ministry Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin has confirmed this.

She said that the Department of Homeland Security is an agency related to national security. We can, should and will conduct polygraph tests of all employees.

What is a polygraph test?

During a polygraph test, it is seen whether a person is lying or telling the truth while answering questions. Whenever a person lies, his heart rate, blood pressure changes. He sweats. Sometimes, during a polygraph test, attention is also paid to the movement of hands and feet. However, four things are usually observed during the test on a polygraph machine.

1-Breathing Rate.

2-Pulse Rate.

3-Blood Pressure.

4-Perspiration.

How does a polygraph test work?

During the polygraph test, four or six points of the machine are connected to the chest and fingers of the person. Then some general questions are asked to him. After this, questions related to crime are asked to him. During this, the heart rate, blood pressure, pulse etc. of the person are monitored on the screen of the machine. Medical test of the person is also done before the test. Then his normal heart rate, blood pressure, pulse rate etc. are noted.
When the test starts, questions are asked. Then if the person answering lies, then his heart rate, blood pressure, pulse rate decreases or increases. Sweat starts coming on the forehead or palms. This shows that the person is lying. These signals are recorded at the time of every question. If the person is speaking the truth, then all his physical activities remain normal. When a person gives a false answer to any question, then a P300 (P3) signal comes out from his brain. In such a situation, his heart rate and blood pressure increase. These are matched with normal rates. It is immediately known whether this answer is true or false.
