Senior Congress leader Dr. Charan Das Mahant turned down the offer to become PCC chief—

Bilaspur-Senior Chhattisgarh Congress leader Dr. Charan Das Mahant said that the party had to face defeat in the assembly and Lok Sabha elections due to division among the leaders. He said that we did not fight unitedly and together. That is why we lost.

We and Congressmen also believe this. Leader of Opposition Dr. Mahant has arrived on a visit to Bilaspur on Friday. During this, he spoke to the media. Dr. Mahant said that this time we will fight unitedly and with one mind. Next time we will again form the Congress government in the state. Mahant said that after the defeat in the election, the leaders of every party reviews. After the review of the senior leaders of the party, the need for change in the organisation has been stated.

It is obvious that now there will be a change in the organisation here. He hinted that changes will be made in the organisation to remove the internal differences of the party. Dr. Mahant said that I am not in the race for the post of State Congress President. He said that I have already rejected this offer. I have dealt with 6 elections by doing small things. Now I do not want to become the state president.
