Residence Certificate Delivered in Just One Week as Chhattisgarh’s Digital Governance Initiative Sets a New Benchmark for Transparent, Citizen-Centric Administration

Raipur: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government continues to strengthen good governance, transparency, and digital administration through innovative public service initiatives. Among its flagship reforms, the ” Seva Setu” Portal has emerged as a transformative platform, enabling citizens to access government services online in a simple, transparent, and time-bound manner.

The portal allows residents across the state to apply digitally for essential certificates and other public services, eliminating the need for repeated visits to government offices. By ensuring timely service delivery, the initiative is saving citizens both time and money while making government processes more efficient and accountable.

A remarkable example of the portal’s success comes from Nidhi Sen, daughter of Prakash Chandra Sen, a resident of Sutarra village in the Podi Uproda tehsil of Korba district. Seeking a residence certificate, she submitted her application through the local Public Service Centre using the Service Setu Portal.

After the required documents were verified and the patwari’s report was processed, her application was approved within the stipulated timeline. Impressively, she received her residence certificate in just one week, demonstrating the efficiency of the state’s digital governance framework.

Sharing her experience, Nidhi said the entire process—from application to certificate issuance—was smooth, transparent, and hassle-free. She did not have to make repeated trips to government offices, resulting in significant savings in both time and travel expenses.

She added that the Service Setu Portal has made government services more accessible than ever before, particularly for ordinary citizens who previously faced procedural delays and administrative hurdles.

Expressing her appreciation for the initiative, Nidhi said the portal has strengthened public confidence in government service delivery by ensuring transparency, accountability, and timely responses. She noted that the system has proved especially beneficial for people living in rural areas, who can now avail themselves of essential government services without unnecessary inconvenience.

The Chhattisgarh government, under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership, continues to expand digital governance and citizen-focused reforms across the state. The Seva Setu Portal stands as a powerful example of this vision, bridging the gap between citizens and the administration by making public services faster, simpler, and more reliable.

As the state accelerates its digital transformation journey, initiatives like Service Setu are redefining governance—bringing government services closer to the people while reinforcing the principles of transparency, efficiency, and good governance.
