Raipur: April 16, 2026 – A 6-member high-level team from the Jharkhand State Housing Board has arrived in Chhattisgarh on a study tour.

During its visit to the state from April 15 to April 18, 2026, the delegation will conduct a detailed study of the housing schemes, rules, procedures, and innovations implemented by the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and Infrastructure Development Board.

Today, the Chhattisgarh Housing Board and Infrastructure Development Board provided the study team with detailed information regarding its various schemes, policies, and operational mechanisms. During this session, Additional Commissioner Harsh Kumar Joshi delivered a presentation on technical subjects. Chief Estate Officer Sunil Kumar Singh shared information regarding property management, marketing, sales systems, and IT-enabled processes.

Meanwhile, Chief Accounts Officer Pooja Mishra Shukla shed light on financial management. Deputy Commissioner B.B. Singh and Executive Engineer Sandeep Sahu also apprised the delegation of various technical aspects and operational procedures.

The study team was also informed that, under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Minister O.P. Choudhary, and the Board’s Chairman Anurag Singh Deo, several significant decisions have been taken to provide affordable housing to common citizens.

Key achievements highlighted include the sale of 5,145 properties worth ₹1,100 crore over the past year; the disposal of 1,105 old properties worth ₹174 crore under the OTS-2 scheme; and the introduction of facilities such as the ‘Allottee Portal’ and an AI-based chatbot. Additionally, over the last two years, 78 housing projects costing ₹3,050 crore have been initiated, and proposals for 7 redevelopment projects have also been submitted.

It is worth mentioning that this study team was constituted by the Jharkhand State Housing Board with the objective of amending its 2000 Act or formulating a new legislative framework.

The delegation is also studying the procedures involved in converting the unauthorised commercial use of properties within residential zones into “mixed-use” categories. It is noteworthy that both Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand were formed in the year 2000; however, in Chhattisgarh, the Housing Board rapidly expanded its residential schemes, thereby enabling common citizens to access permanent houses at affordable rates.
