Raipur : Students took messages of social responsibility and nation-building directly to the public in Pendra on Monday, September 21, 2026 using street theatre and creative expression to draw attention to issues ranging from cleanliness and education to environmental protection and self-reliance.
The programme, organised under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in front of the Multipurpose School in Pendra, saw boys and girls from DIET participate in a nukkad natak and other awareness activities.
Through lively performances, dialogue and placards, the students sought to demonstrate how individual responsibility and community participation can contribute to a cleaner, healthier and more socially conscious society.
From Cleanliness to Nation-Building
The street play focused on health, sanitation, education and environmental protection, presenting these themes in a simple and accessible manner for members of the public.

Students appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness in their surroundings, conserve water and electricity and remain conscious of their responsibility towards the environment. The performances also highlighted the idea that a clean village and a healthy society require participation from citizens rather than depending solely on institutional initiatives.

Young participants placed particular emphasis on the role of youth in social transformation. Through their performances, they encouraged young people to pursue self-reliance and self-employment with determination while also contributing to their communities.
The presentation underlined that the responsibility of young people extends beyond building their own careers. Their energy, skills and participation can also contribute to social progress and nation-building.

Messages of unity, brotherhood and responsible citizenship formed another important part of the programme. The students conveyed that lasting social change cannot be achieved through the efforts of one person alone and requires collective participation.
Creative activities organised alongside the street play further reinforced messages related to cleanliness, environmental awareness, social responsibility and nation-building.
The enthusiastic participation of the students turned the public space into an interactive platform for communication, demonstrating how street theatre can take social messages beyond classrooms and formal gatherings and directly to people.
The programme was attended by District Panchayat Vice-President Raja Upendra Bahadur Singh, Rakesh Chaturvedi, District Education Officer Rajneesh Tiwari, public representatives, prominent citizens and local residents.
