Raipur: This budget has been prepared in accordance with the infrastructure needs of Chhattisgarh while meeting the current needs. This budget will accelerate the development of Chhattisgarh. In this, a solid foundation has been laid to prepare Chhattisgarh as an industrial hub and IT hub along with measures to improve the “agricultural economy” of the rice bowl.
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the above while reacting to the budget presented in the assembly today on Tuesday March 3, 2025 on the second year of his government. Sai said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have set a target of making Chhattisgarh a developed state. For this, it is very important that we prepare our economy according to modern times, the entire focus of the budget is on this. The Chief Minister said that we had inherited a legacy of bad treasury and bad governance in the state. We have re-started public welfare works in the state by balanced use of the budget, while improving the administrative systems along with fiscal reforms. Now development has come on track in Chhattisgarh and the triple engine government is giving it rapid speed. This speed will increase further with the budget provisions.
Chief Minister Sai said that in the last budget, the path of inclusive development was prepared in accordance with the concept of developed India and our focus was on knowledge i.e. poor, youth, farmers and women power. The way we implemented innovative schemes for them, it gave effective results. This time the theme of the budget is “Speed for Knowledge” which is in line with the goals of our triple engine government. He said that by speed we mean good governance, accelerating infrastructure, maximum use of technology and rapid growth in industrial development. We will fulfill all these criteria.
The Chief Minister said that we have seen big dreams for the overall development of Chhattisgarh and have also prepared a strategy to fulfill them. To fulfill these, our triple engine government will work at full speed.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also remembered the creator of Chhattisgarh state, former Prime Minister Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. He said that we are celebrating his birth centenary year as Atal Nirman Year. He said that Atal ji wanted to see Chhattisgarh in the category of developed states, we have laid a solid foundation to fulfill his dreams. The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh will need such infrastructure that meets the needs of a developed industrial state. For this, we have made special provisions in the budget. There will be a survey of Raipur-Durg Metro service. New industrial parks are being established. A budget of Rs 700 crore has been kept for this. We will connect rivers like Mahanadi- Indravati and Kodar-Sikasar and invest in agriculture. A budget provision of Rs 1500 crore has been made for new irrigation projects.
The Chief Minister said that we have made arrangements in the budget for new hospitals, modern schools and adequate staff in them to save human resources. 12 new engineering colleges and 12 polytechnic colleges will be started to meet the needs of the new industrial policy of the state. Industrial subsidy support of Rs 700 crore has been kept for new businesses and startups. The Chief Minister said that this time the capital expenditure has been kept at more than Rs 26 thousand crore, which is 18 percent compared to last year. The investment made in capital expenditure gives manifold returns. The Chief Minister said that the budget is inclusive and has been prepared according to our goal of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.
The Chief Minister said that in accordance with the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay ji, we have made special budget provisions for the welfare of Antyodaya and for their overall development. Along with the budget provision for the schemes started in the last budget for poor youth, farmers, women power and tribal development, new schemes for their development have also been started in this budget.
The Chief Minister said that with this budget, our state will take a new flight to fulfill its dreams with new resolutions.
