Raipur: Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium of the capital Raipur has been immersed in the colors of the rich folk tradition of Chhattisgarh this time. On the occasion of Teeja-Pora Tihar, the auditorium courtyard is decorated with Nandiya-Baila, traditional toys, colorful garlands and Chhattisgarhi decorations and is spreading a wonderful glow.

Under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Rajwada, preparations for this special event to be held on 24th August on the occasion of ChhattisgarhRajat Mahotsav almost complete. About 3 thousand women will participate in Teeja-Pora festival, which will include beneficiary women of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, didis and Mitanins of women self-help groups.

On this occasion, worship of Shiv-Parvati, Nandiya bull and agricultural equipment will be performed. Competitions related to folk traditions like fugdi, jalebi race, lemon, spoon race and tug of war will be organised for women.

At the same time, attractive stalls of mehndi, bangles and alta will also become a special attraction of the festival. Special gifts will also be given to women during the program and the taste of Chhattisgarhi cuisine will also be included in it.

Padma Shri Usha Barle and famous folk singer Aru Sahu will give their special performances in this festival full of culture. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, Arun Sao, ministers of the state government and many dignitaries will be present in the program.

It is noteworthy that the Women and Child Development Department is organising Teeja Pora Tihar and Mahila Sammelan on the occasion of Chhattisgarh Rajat mahotasav fothnight Started from Independence Day August 15, 2025 for the mothers and sisters of the state at Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur tomorrow on Sunday August 24, 2025 .

Teeja Tihar has a special place in the rich folk culture of Chhattisgarh. This festival is not only religious or traditional, but is a festival that cherishes social and family relationships. This festival, which comes in the Hindi month of Bhado, brings the love of the maternal home for sisters, daughters and mothers.

This festival is a bridge to connect relationships and daughters and sisters are called to their maternal home and are honored. On this special occasion, Nirjala Vrat (Fast without evn having water ) is observed, Shiva-Parvati is worshipped, so that happiness and prosperity remains in married life. Teeja Tihar is indeed the real identity of Chhattisgarh, where a wonderful confluence of culture, tradition and love is seen.
