Chief Minister Shri Sai paid tribute to Padma Shri Dr. Surendra Dubey

“Raipur : The State Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday July 9, 2025 attended the tribute meeting of famous poet Padma Shri Dr. Surendra Dubey organised in the auditorium of Shri Salasar Balaji Dham located at Jora in the capital Raipur.

The Chief Minister paid tribute to late Dr. Dubey by offering flowers on his memorial photograph. He prayed to God to give place to the departed soul in his lotus feet and give patience and strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Addressing the tribute meeting, Chief Minister Sai said that Dr. Surendra Dubey, a poet of national repute in the field of humor and satire, was a true son of Chhattisgarh Mahtari. This great poet who made everyone laugh left us crying today. Through his extraordinary poetic talent, he increased the pride of Chhattisgarh not only across the country but also internationally. His sudden demise is an irreparable loss for the entire state and the literary world, which is impossible to compensate.

The Chief Minister said that in his long public life, he has participated in many “Kavi sammelans” (Gathering of Poets  ), and there has hardly been any major event where Dr. Dubey was not present. On every platform, he used to receive special respect from the eminent poets of the country.

Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao also paid tribute to late Dr. Surendra Dubey in the condolence meeting and said that he was not only a poet, but also a lively and energetic personality. He brought respect to Chhattisgarhi language and culture through his creations. He not only made people laugh by traveling to every corner of the state, but also awakened social consciousness. On this occasion, Dr. Surendra Dubey’s family and other dignitaries were present.
