Paid emotional tribute to the martyred soldiers by laying wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial

Raipur: Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday october 21 participated in the parade organised on the occasion of Police Memorial Day in the premises of the 4th Battalion, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces, Mana Raipur. Governor Ramen Deka and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid homage to the martyred police personnel on behalf of the people of the state and paid emotional tribute to them by laying wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial. The Governor and Chief Minister met with the families of the martyred police officers and personnel and expressed their condolences. On this occasion, they presented shawls, coconuts, and mementos to the families.

Paying tribute to the police personnel martyred in the line of duty on the occasion of Police Memorial Day, Governor Ramen Deka said that the nation will always salute the indomitable courage, valor, and sacrifice of the police. He said that the dedication and discipline with which police personnel serve, remaining vigilant 24 hours a day, makes it possible for citizens to live in an environment of peace, security, and trust. He emphasised that the police’s duties are extremely challenging—on the one hand, they are responsible for maintaining law and order, and on the other, they also have a duty to provide a fear-free environment for citizens.

He emphasised that the general public should also adopt a cooperative and humane approach towards the police. Referring to the Naxal-affected areas, Governor Deka said that the Chhattisgarh Police has faced the challenge of Naxalism with determination, courage, and dedication, resulting in a strong atmosphere of peace and trust in these areas. He expressed hope that in the future, the state will be completely free from the Naxal problem. Governor Deka concluded by expressing condolences to the families of the martyrs and paying tribute to all police officers and personnel for their continued contributions.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that October 21st is the day when we remember the police personnel who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation’s security. He stated that the police and security forces remain vigilant 24 hours a day to protect society, even in difficult circumstances and challenges. The dedication and discipline of police personnel makes it possible to create an environment of peace, security, and trust in the state.

This day is not only an occasion to remember the valor of these personnel, but also to respectfully pay tribute to the sacrifices of their families. Chief Minister Sai said that the security forces in Chhattisgarh have demonstrated unparalleled courage against Naxalism, and development work is now rapidly progressing in Naxal-affected areas. Schemes like Niyyad Nella Nar, PM Janman, and Dharti Aba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan are transforming the landscape of remote villages. The Chief Minister further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the fight to eradicate Naxalism has intensified, and the state government is moving forward resolutely with the resolve to completely eradicate it by March 2026.
Paying homage to the immortal martyrs, the Chief Minister said that their sacrifice will always be remembered and will continue to inspire us to duty, discipline, and dedication.

Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that our soldiers are continuously fighting with indomitable courage and bravery to eradicate Naxalism from Bastar. They are not only combating Naxalism but also playing a vital role in advancing development work in Bastar. He said that the state government is committed to preserving the memory of the martyred soldiers and assisting their families. Sharma informed that a decision has been taken to perpetuate the sacrifice of the martyred soldiers through a souvenir. He also informed about the arrangements made in the IG and SP offices to assist the martyred families. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sharma concluded by remembering the bravery of the police personnel and paying tribute to them.

MLA Motilal Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, senior police officers, Divisional Commissioner Mahadev Kanware, IG Amresh Mishra along with police personnel and family members of the martyred soldiers were present on the occasion.
