Raipur: : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is strengthening the implementation of farmer-centric welfare initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of Central and State agricultural schemes reach eligible beneficiaries on time. Among these, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme has emerged as a reliable source of financial support, enabling farmers to prepare for the cropping season with greater confidence.
The timely release of financial assistance under PM-KISAN is helping farmers purchase seeds, fertilisers, and other essential agricultural inputs without delay. A compelling example comes from Sarbahara Gram Panchayat in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi district, where farmer Avan Singh recently received the 23rd installment under the PM-KISAN scheme. He invested the amount in purchasing quality seeds, fertilisers, and other farm essentials.
According to Avan Singh, the timely financial assistance made it easier to prepare his fields for cultivation. He said that having funds available before sowing eliminated unnecessary delays and enabled him to begin farming activities at the right time, increasing the prospects for a better harvest.
Another beneficiary from the same village, Naresh Yadav, who cultivates around four acres of land, said that PM-KISAN has become an important financial lifeline for small and medium farmers. He explained that the scheme helps farmers procure essential agricultural inputs without borrowing, improving both their financial stability and confidence.
Naresh believes that predictable and timely financial assistance encourages farmers to plan their cultivation more effectively and adopt better farming practices, resulting in higher productivity and improved agricultural outcomes.
