Dr Raman Singh’s Experience an Invaluable Asset to Chhattisgarh

Paying tribute to Dr Raman Singh’s long political career, Agrawal said that the Speaker’s extensive experience in administration and public life remained a valuable resource for the state.

He emphasised that Dr Singh had consistently accorded importance to public service, good governance and the comprehensive development of Chhattisgarh.

Agrawal said:

“Dr Raman Singh’s long political and administrative experience is an important asset to Chhattisgarh. Throughout his public life, he has consistently given priority to public service, good governance and the state’s overall development.”

The Minister recalled Dr Singh’s lengthy tenure as Chief Minister, observing that several development initiatives and public welfare programmes were undertaken during that period.

He said those efforts sought to improve the lives of ordinary citizens and strengthen the state’s development prospects.

A Political Career Associated with Public Welfare and Good Governance

Dr Raman Singh served as Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh for three consecutive terms, from December 2003 to December 2018.

His tenure represented a significant period in the state’s administrative and political history, during which Chhattisgarh pursued various programmes relating to public welfare, infrastructure and governance.

Referring to this experience, Agrawal said that Dr Singh’s understanding of public administration and development priorities continued to offer valuable guidance.

“His simple, approachable and affectionate personality, together with his commitment to public interest, serves as an inspiration to everyone engaged in public life,” Agrawal said.

He added that experience, foresight and a sustained commitment to public service were important qualities in political leadership.

Strengthening Parliamentary Traditions and Constitutional Values

Agrawal also acknowledged Dr Raman Singh’s present responsibilities as Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.

He said the Speaker’s office carried considerable importance in maintaining democratic traditions, legislative discipline and constitutional values.

According to the Minister, Dr Singh’s experience in government and public administration contributed to his understanding of the responsibilities associated with presiding over the Assembly.

Agrawal observed that the institution of the Legislative Assembly played a central role in democratic governance by providing a forum for debate, legislation, public accountability and discussion of issues affecting citizens.

He said that the preservation of parliamentary dignity and constitutional principles was essential for strengthening democratic institutions.

Senior Leaders’ Guidance Inspires the Next Generation

Highlighting the importance of experienced leadership, Agrawal said that senior public representatives could offer valuable direction to younger generations entering political and public life.

Their knowledge of governance, administration and public expectations could help newer representatives discharge their responsibilities with greater dedication.

The Minister said:

“The experience and guidance of senior public representatives inspire the younger generation to work with greater dedication and commitment towards public service. Dr Raman Singh’s affection and guidance have always been a source of inspiration.”

He emphasised that public life demanded sustained commitment to citizens’ welfare and a willingness to learn from experienced leaders.
