In view of the security situation, entry of tourists has been banned in Neelam Valley and sensitive areas near the Line of Control (LoC). At the same time, religious madrassas have been ordered to be closed for 10 days.

The PoK government has claimed that full preparations have been made to ensure the supply of food, medicines and other essential items in case of aggression from India. One billion rupees have been transferred to the emergency fund. The government decided to close religious madrassas for 10 days on the basis of intelligence inputs, as there is apprehension that India may target these institutions by terming them as terrorist training centres. Law Minister Mian Abdul Wahid said, “We are dealing with a cunning, cruel and conspiratorial enemy, whose nefarious actions cannot be ruled out.”

Ban on air services too
