Train accident in Chhattisgarh! 22 coaches suddenly derailed, many trains cancelled, see list

Bilaspur: A goods train derailed on Bilaspur-Katni railway section under Bilaspur Railway Division of South East Central Railway on Tuesday November 26 , 2024 . The accident occurred between Khongsara and Bhanwartank stations on Tuesday morning at around 11.11 am, when 22 coaches of a long haul goods train derailed.

Some coaches overturned on the tracks. Due to this incident on the up line, operations on both up and down lines on this route have been disrupted. Restoration work has been started. Due to disruption in operations on this route, some trains are being sent to their destinations via diverted routes.

Keeping in view the convenience of passengers, the railway has set up help desks at Bilaspur, Raigarh, Anuppur, Shahdol, Uslapur, Durg, Raipur and Gondia stations. It has also issued some helpline numbers 9752441105 and 1072 in Bilaspur.

The railway has cancelled four trains due to this incident. The wheels of two trains stopped midway. Apart from this, it has been decided to run nine trains on diverted routes.

08739 Shahdol-Bilaspur MEMU has been terminated at Pendra Road station.

08748 Katni-Bilaspur MEMU has been terminated at Shahdol station.

18477 Puri-Yoga Nagari Rishikesh Kalinga Utkal Express will reach Yoga Nagari Rishikesh via diverted route Bilaspur-Gondia-Jabalpur-Katni Mudwara.
12549 Durg-Major Captain Tushar Mahajan Udhampur Express will reach Major Captain Tushar Mahajan Udhampur via Durg-Gondia-Jabalpur.

12854 Bhopal-Durg Amarkantak Express will reach Durg via Jabalpur-Gondia.

12853 Durg- Bhopal Amarkantak Express will go to Bhopal via Gondia-Jabalpur.

15159 Chhapra-Durg Sarnath Express will reach Durg via Jabalpur-Gondia.

12824 Nizamuddin-Durg Sampark Kranti Express leaving from Nizamuddin on Tuesday will reach Bilaspur Railway Station via the diverted route Jhansi-Bhopal-Itasi-Nagpur-Durg.
