Raipur : Another significant success in the direction of peace, trust and development has emerged in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region. In Bijapur district, 30 Maoist cadres, and in Sukma, 21 Maoist cadres surrendered on Saturday February 7 , 2026 under the state government’s rehabilitation-based initiative “Poona Margham: Rejuvenation through Rehabilitation”, choosing to return to the mainstream of society. A total reward of Rs 1.61 crore had been declared on these surrendering cadres.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that laying down arms and expressing faith in the Constitution and the democratic system is a clear indication that security, good governance and inclusive progress form the strong foundation of any region’s long-term future.

He said this development is a positive and tangible outcome of the government’s sustained efforts to establish peace in Bastar. Over the past two years, road connectivity, education, healthcare, communication and basic infrastructure have been expanded to remote and sensitive areas of Bastar. These developmental initiatives have encouraged misguided youth to abandon the path of violence and reconnect with the democratic system and social life.

Chief Minister Sai said that the core focus of the government’s good governance policy is not only security, but also the building of trust, rehabilitation and future opportunities. He said the state government will provide all necessary support for the rehabilitation, skill development and self-reliance of the youths who have surrendered.

Chief Minister Sai said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the firm resolve of Amit Shah, and the sustained efforts of the state government, Bastar is rapidly moving away from fear and violence towards trust, development and new opportunities.

Expressing confidence, he said that in the coming times, Bastar will establish a new identity before the nation as a developed, peaceful and prosperous region, the CM affirmed.
