Ujjain Mahakal temple wall collapses due to heavy rains , many people are trapped under the rubble, chaos ensued

Ujjain: A wall collapses during heavy rains at the Mahakal temple in Ujjain, under which some devotees are feared to be trapped . The rescue team is engaged on the spot. Administrative officials have also reached the spot and arrangements are being made for proper treatment of the injured. Heavy rains have been continuing in Ujjain for the last few days, but it has brought disaster in the Mahakal temple area. An old wall suddenly collapses near the house of Jyotishcharya Pandit Anand Shankar Vyas at Gate No. 4 of Mahakal temple. Some people selling goods near the wall got caught in it. The Mahakal temple administration have informed that some more people are expected to be trapped under the debris .

Help was called in a hurry and administrative officials were informed. Police and rescue workers were immediately sent to the spot. As soon as the Mahakal temple administration got information about these people being trapped , they immediately pulled out the injured from the debris with the help of Mahakal police station and temple employees. Injured people have been taken to the hospital for treatment. It is not yet known how many people are trapped in the debris and how many have been pulled out by the rescue team.

The rescue team is continuously engaged in their work. An eyewitness to the incident said that it was raining very heavily, we were standing at gate number 4 with umbrellas. Then suddenly the wall collapses in which two women and a child got trapped under the wall. The woman did not know how many more devotees are injured due to the incident .
