Attack on Russian airbase -Photo-Reuters
Ukraine has attacked two important air bases of Russia – Olenya and Belaya. The Ukrainian army has used drones in this attack. It is being told that the air bases which have been targeted are located deep inside the Russia-Ukraine border. According to Ukrainian sources, this attack was their biggest drone attack till date. Ukraine has specifically targeted the base which Russia was using to bomb it.

Meanwhile, Belarusian news media outlet NEXTA reported that explosions and heavy smoke were seen near the Olenya air base in the Murmansk region. It shared photos and videos of the aftermath of the attack on Olenya. The report said that “initial reports indicate a possible drone attack. Olenya is one of Russia’s key strategic aviation facilities, which houses aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons.” However, it clarified that there is no official confirmation from Russia at the moment, but if confirmed, it would be the worst attack on Russia’s military infrastructure since the beginning of the war.
