Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a tour of Bastar today with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. The purpose of his visit is to review the development work in Naxal-affected areas as well as to take stock of the security arrangements.
According to the released program, Home Minister Shah will leave for Dantewada from Raipur with the Chief Minister at 10:50 am. At 12 noon, he will visit Maa Danteshwari. After this, at 1 pm, he will attend the closing ceremony of Bastar’s traditional cultural festival ‘Bastar Pandum’.
During his visit, Amit Shah will also meet the commanders of Bastar Fighter and will also hold discussions with public representatives of Bijapur, Sukma, Dantewada and Narayanpur districts. These meetings will focus on issues related to regional development and security.
Apart from this, the Home Minister will also have lunch with the jawans, which will boost the morale of the security forces. At 4:15 pm, he will return to Raipur from Jagdalpur and will chair a departmental review meeting on Left Wing Extremism (LWE) in the capital at 5 pm.
The Home Minister’s visit will conclude with his departure from Raipur for Delhi at 8 pm. This visit is considered important for the purpose of strengthening the joint strategy of the Central and State Government in the Bastar region.
