Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar will inaugurate ‘Divya Kala Mela’ today, CM will attend as guest

Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar will inaugurate the “Divya Kala Mela” program organized at BTI Ground Shankar Nagar in the capital Raipur on August 17 at 11 am. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai will attend this program as a special guest.

Divya Kala Mela’ will be organized from 16 August 2024 to 22 August 2024. This fair will be a unique event showcasing the products and craftsmanship of Divyang entrepreneurs and artisans from across the country. This program will present an exciting experience for the people. In this fair, vibrant products from different parts of the country including products from Jammu and Kashmir, North-Eastern states, handicrafts, handloom, embroidery work and packaged food etc. can be seen together. This 7-day “Divya Kala Mela” in Raipur will be open from 10 am to 9 pm. Selected Divyang artists of the country will showcase their art, dance and singing

It will also witness a series of cultural activities along with performances by Divyang artists and renowned professionals. People can also enjoy their favourite cuisines from different regions of the country at this event. The fair will conclude with a grand event called “Divya Kala Shakti” in which selected Divyang artists of the country will showcase their art, dance and singing.

It is worth noting that the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India through National Disabled Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC) is organizing a joint program of Divya Kala Mela, Divya Kala Shakti, Job Fair, Loan Mela, Camp for distribution of assistive devices to Divyangjans under ADIP scheme for Divyang Empowerment at BTI Ground, Shankar Nagar, Raipur.

Divya Kala Mela is a unique initiative towards the economic empowerment of Divyangjans. Divya Kala Mela presents a big platform for marketing and showcasing the products and skills of Divyangjan (PWD). Divya Kala Mela, Raipur, Chhattisgarh is the 17th fair of the series starting from the year 2022. About 100 Divyang artisans, artists and entrepreneurs from about 20 states and union territories will showcase their products and skills at the fair.

These will mainly display products like home decor and lifestyle, clothing, stationery and eco-friendly products, packaged food and organic products, toys and gifts, personal accessories, jewelry, clutch wag etc. Along with this, to make the Divyangs self-reliant, financial assistance will be provided to them by the state’s channelizing agencies through loan melas. A cultural program of Divya Kala Shakti will also be organized to encourage the skills of the Divyangs such as music, dance, drama. This will be an opportunity for everyone to be ‘Vocal for Local’ and the products made by the Divyang artisans with their determination can be seen and purchased.
