Chief Minister attends tribute ceremony for Martyr Veer Narayan Singh in Karrejhar village, Rajarao Plateau

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the tribal community’s immortal martyrs and great leaders have made a unique conribution to the reconstruction of the nation and society. He said that whenever the nation and society faced adversity, the tribal community bravely confronted it and gave a befitting reply to the divisive elements.
Chief Minister Sai was addressing the grand Veer Mela festival organized in Karrejhar village of Gurur development block in Balod district on Wednesday December 10, 2025 . On the last day of the three-day grand Veer Mela, Chief Minister Sai participated in the tribute ceremony for Martyr Veer Narayan Singh and paid his humble respects to the immortal martyr Veer Narayan Singh.

Chief Minister Sai announced Rs. 15 lakh for the construction of a pond near the fairground in Karrejhar village, an increase in the assistance amount provided by the Tribal Welfare Department for the fair from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh, and the construction of a kitchen shed at the religious site on the Rajarao Plateau. In addition, he also inaugurated various development works worth a total of Rs. 71.93 lakh at the fairground.
The program was presided over by former Union Minister Arvind Netam. Tribal Welfare Minister Ramvichar Netam, Forest and Climate Change Minister Kedar Kashyap, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, and MLA from Kanker constituency Asharam Netam were also present.

Chief Minister Sai mentioned the contributions of former Prime Minister late Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in protecting the interests of tribals and giving them a distinct identity in the country and the world.
Chief Minister Sai described the indomitable bravery, courage, and patriotism of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Martyr Veer Narayan Singh, and Gaindsingh Nayak as unparalleled. He said that the Chhattisgarh government has fulfilled all the promises made under Modi’s guarantee.
On the occasion, former Union Minister Arvind Netam appreciated the efforts made by the state and central governments towards eradicating Naxalism, which has been the biggest obstacle to the state’s development.
Minister for Tribal Welfare and Agriculture, Ram Vichar Netam, said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is working with determination for the development of all sections of society. Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap said that the issues for which our ancestors fought are now becoming a reality.
The long struggle for forest rights has resulted in their descendants receiving their rights today.
Bastar is being freed from the years-old scourge of Naxalism. Happiness is returning to the lives of the people here. A strong foundation of education, health, infrastructure, and development is being laid in Bastar.
On the occasion, folk artists from the tribal community also presented vibrant performances of traditional folk arts and cultural programs such as Rela, Mandri, and Hulki. Chief Minister Sai also released two books on the occasion: ‘Adishakti Maa Angarmoti’ authored by Hemwati Thakur, a writer from the tribal community, and ‘Ghotul Pundana’ by Marai Radheshyam Bastariya.
