UP Outdoor Advertising Policy 2024: If someone dies due to falling of hoardings , have to pay compensation!

Lucknow: Yogi government is going to bring outdoor advertising policy. According to which companies will have to pay compensation if someone dies due to falling of hoardings on someone . In this policy, provision has been made to give compensation in case of death or disability. This compensation will have to be given by the companies putting up advertisements. There is no provision for giving compensation in the current advertising policy.

Let us inform you that the government is preparing to bring this new system to curb accidents caused by falling hoardings on somebody . Under this policy, advertising agencies will have to compensate the aggrieved party even if there is damage to property. However, the amount of compensation has not been decided yet. Apart from this, it will also be necessary to take permission from a structural engineer for roof top advertising. For this, they will be listed in all the bodies.

The policy may provide for the removal of unauthorised advertisements or its equipment installed, displayed or kept on any land and building without any notice. The urban bodies will be free to confiscate it. On removing illegal hoardings or promotional material, the expenses will also be recovered from the concerned person or organisation. Those who do not deposit the fee on time will be recovered with interest. At the same time, a fine of up to five times will be imposed for putting up illegal advertisements.

After the new advertising policy comes, rates will be fixed afresh for putting up hoardings. For this, area-wise rates will be fixed. The allotment site will also be measured. Rates will be determined on the basis of market survey and demand.
