Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday, September 17, 2026 offered prayers to Lord Vishwakarma at the Chief Minister’s residence in Raipur on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti, describing the festival as a celebration of creativity, craftsmanship, skill and the dignity of labour.
Sai performed the traditional puja and prayed for the prosperity, happiness and continued progress of Chhattisgarh. His adviser R. Krishna Das, Press Officer Alok Singh and other officials and employees of the Chief Minister’s residence were present on the occasion.
Extending greetings to people across the State, the Chief Minister particularly acknowledged workers, artisans, craftspeople, engineers, technicians and those associated with industry and construction.
“Lord Vishwakarma is a symbol of creativity, skill, dedication to work and excellence. His worship inspires us to contribute to the building of society and the nation through our knowledge, skills and hard work,” Sai said, according to the statement issued on the occasion.
He said Vishwakarma Jayanti was not merely a festival associated with faith and tradition, but also an occasion to recognise the dignity of labour, respect skill and express gratitude for the power of creation.
‘Skilled Hands Give Shape to Development’
Highlighting the contribution of workers and craftspeople, Sai said progress in any State or nation depended significantly on those who build, manufacture, repair, design and create.
“From farms to factories, from small establishments to large industries, and from traditional crafts to modern technology, our skilled hands are shaping development through their hard work and talent,” the Chief Minister said.
Sai also drew attention to Chhattisgarh’s long tradition of craftsmanship, saying generations of artisans had helped preserve the State’s cultural heritage through their skills.
At the same time, he said workers, engineers and young people associated with technology were playing an important role in building a modern Chhattisgarh.
The combination of traditional skills and modern technology, he said, had the potential to give a new direction to the State’s development.

The Chief Minister underlined the importance of recognising workers not merely in economic terms but as contributors to the process of creation and development.
“Labour is not merely a means of livelihood; it is a force of creation and nation-building. Respecting the hard work of every worker and the skill of every artisan is our social responsibility,” Sai said.
He said lakhs of workers, craftspeople and people engaged in construction were continuously contributing to Chhattisgarh’s progress, and their skills and labour constituted a strong foundation for the State’s development.
Sai also linked the message of Vishwakarma Jayanti with the changing demands of technology and employment.
“We must continuously refine our skills and adopt new technology in accordance with changing times. It is through a skilled and hardworking human resource base that we can realise the resolve of an Atmanirbhar, modern and developed Chhattisgarh,” he said.
Concluding his message, the Chief Minister prayed for the success and well-being of workers, artisans, craftspeople, technicians, engineers and entrepreneurs and expressed the hope that their skills and hard work would continue to contribute to Chhattisgarh’s progress and prosperity.
