Rafale Fighter Jet: This is the first time that the body of Rafale will be made somewhere outside France. Under the partnership of Tata Advanced System with Dassault, a unit of this will be built in Hyderabad.
Rafale Fighter Jet: During ‘Operation Sindoor’, India defeated Pakistan with the help of Rafale fighter jet. Now the news of the body of the same Rafale being made in India is coming to the fore. French aerospace company Dassault Aviation and Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) have signed an agreement. Under this, the body of the Rafale fighter jet will be made in India for both domestic and international markets. For this, four production transfer agreements have been signed between the two companies.
For the first time the body will be made outside France
This is the first time that the body of Rafale will be made somewhere outside France. The government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, this collaboration between the two companies aims to promote self-reliance in the defense sector. Under the partnership of Tata Advanced System with Dassault, a unit of it will be set up in Hyderabad, where the main structural sections of Rafale will be manufactured. Many sections like Rafale’s front section, central fuselage, rear section and lateral shell will be made in the plant. Production is expected to start from the financial year 2028.
According to a Business Standard report, Dassault Aviation Chairman and CEO Eric Trappier said, “This is a decisive step towards strengthening our supply chain in India. Along with our growing local partners like TASL, this supply chain will contribute to the production of Rafale and meet our quality and competitiveness requirements.”

TASL CEO and MD Sukaran Singh called this agreement an important milestone in India’s aerospace journey. He said, “The production of Rafale’s body in India is proof of the growing trust in our companies and it reflects India’s progress in the modern aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.”
Rafale is France’s double-engine and multirole fighter aircraft. Many features like its speed, radar system, payload capacity, air-to-air refueling are in line with the needs of modern warfare. The SPECTRA system installed in it helps protect it from getting into enemy radars. Rafale has an important role in the Indian Air Force (IAF).
