CM Devendra Fadnavis, while inviting Uddhav Thackeray to join the government, said, “Look Uddhav ji, there is no scope for us to come there (in opposition) till 2029… but you can come here (in ruling party), this can be considered.” At the same time, while reacting to the CM’s statement, he (Uddhav) said that let these things go, some things should be taken as a joke.
Devendra Fadnavis made this statement during the farewell ceremony organized on the occasion of the end of the tenure of Leader of Opposition Ambadas Danve in the Legislative Council, where all the leaders were expressing their views on his achievements.

The CM, while proposing to Uddhav to join the ruling party, said, ‘Look Uddhav ji, there is no scope for us to come there (in the opposition) till 2029, but you can come here (in the ruling party), this can be considered… We can think about it differently. But there is no option left for us to go there.’ He also said that wherever Ambadas Danve is (in the ruling party or the opposition), his real views are nationalist.
At the same time, when Uddhav Thackeray was asked about the Chief Minister’s statement, he told the media to let it go. These are all jokes.
This statement of Fadnavis has come at a time when there is a phase of alliances and conflicts in the politics of Maharashtra. After the 2019 assembly elections, the alliance between the BJP and Shiv Sena (led by Uddhav Thackeray) broke down due to differences over the post of Chief Minister, after which Uddhav formed the government by forming the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). However, Uddhav’s government fell in 2022 after Eknath Shinde’s rebellion. After this, Eknath Shinde formed the government with the support of BJP.
Let us tell you that in the Maharashtra assembly elections held last year, the BJP-led NDA alliance (which includes BJP, Shiv Sena-Shinde faction and NCP-Ajit Pawar faction) won a landslide victory.
