After a review meeting with senior officials on the stampede in Mahakumbh, he said that this incident took place at Sangam Nose of Akhara Marg between one and two o’clock in the night. Some devotees have been injured while jumping over the barricades. They have been taken to the hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.
He said that yesterday five and a half crore devotees took bath in Mahakumbh. There is constant pressure on Sangam Nose. But the administration is present on the spot. Since morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been spoken to four times regarding the current situation. He has enquired about the current situation. Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP ji have also taken stock of the situation.
