8th Pay Commission: Modi government’s gift to employees, approval for formation of 8th pay commission

This decision of the central government will increase the salary of crores of employees. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was decided to constitute the 8th Pay Commission. This commission has to submit its report by 2026. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2016 and its term will end in 2026.

In the new year, the central government has given a gift to lakhs of central employees. The central government announced the 8th Pay Commission on Thursday January 16, 2025 . This decision of the central government will increase the salary of employees and the pension of pensioners. The number of people to be benefited is more than one crore. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the decision to constitute the 8th Pay Commission was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The 7th Pay Commission was constituted in 2016 and its term will end in 2026. Vaishnav further said that the chairman and two members of the commission will be appointed soon.
