The first cabinet expansion of the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra will take place on Sunday December 15 , 2024 at the Raj Bhavan in Nagpur instead of Mumbai. Preparations have begun for the swearing-in ceremony of ministers in Nagpur. The winter session of the Maharashtra Legislature is starting in Nagpur from December 16. Before this, the process of the swearing-in ceremony will be completed.
On being asked about this, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that information about this will be given soon. Meanwhile, there is news that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may hand over the Housing Ministry to Shiv Sena in the cabinet expansion. The Home Ministry will remain with the BJP. According to sources, both the allies of the BJP may get the same departments that they had in the previous Mahayuti government. However, Shiv Sena may be given an additional ministry.
The other parties in the Mahayuti alliance are Shiv Sena led by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Sources said that former Chief Minister Shinde is now one of the two Deputy Chief Ministers of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, so BJP can give another important ministry to his party. Pawar is likely to get the Finance Ministry once again.
Before the state cabinet expansion, Shiv Sena MLA Yogesh Ramdas Kadam said that I will not be able to tell you much, but as the youngest MLA in Shiv Sena, if I am given a chance, I will be grateful to Eknath Shinde for giving me a chance to serve the people of Maharashtra and Konkan region. Whatever responsibility is given to me, I will carry it out well. The official list will be submitted to the Governor within 1-2 hours.
