This year has left deep wounds as it went by. Wounds that will never heal. In fact, three major plane crashes took place in three countries in the last 24 hours. The first major plane crash happened in South Korea. Here, a Jeju Air plane carrying 181 people crashed at Muan International Airport, killing 179 people when it caught fire. The second accident happened at Halifax Airport in Canada, where an Air Canada plane made a dangerous landing at the airport, in which the plane slipped off the runway and caught fire due to the landing gear breaking. This incident happened when the landing gear of the plane malfunctioned and its wings collided with the runway, due to which it caught fire. The third accident happened at Oslo Airport in Norway.

First of all, let’s talk about the South Korea plane crash. On Sunday December 29 , 2024 a Jeju Air plane carrying 181 people crashed at Muan International Airport in South Korea. 179 people died when the plane caught fire. While 2 people have been rescued. It became one of the deadliest aviation disasters in the country’s history

The 15-year-old Boeing 737-800 jet had arrived from Bangkok, Thailand. It left the runway, but the plane’s landing gear was locked due to a malfunction, and it crashed into a concrete fence while attempting to land at the airport at 9.07 am (local time). Authorities suspect the landing gear malfunction was possibly caused by a bird strike. The plane caught fire as it hit the flood, with parts of the plane smoking and flames spreading all around.

According to South Korea’s National Fire Agency, 179 people were killed in the accident. Of these, 83 women and 82 men have been identified, the rest have not been identified. Emergency workers rescued two people who were conscious.

The second accident happened in Canada

The second accident happened in Canada. Here an Air Canada flight made a dangerous landing at Halifax Airport. During landing, the plane slipped off the runway. Its landing gear broke. After landing with a broken landing gear, it caught fire. However, there is no report of any casualties in this incident. This incident happened when the landing gear of the plane malfunctioned, due to which the wing collided with the runway and caught fire. The emergency team immediately reached the spot and extinguished the fire and ensured the safety of all the passengers and crew on board the plane.

A passenger on the plane told CBC News that one of the plane’s tires did not open properly while landing. He said that the plane started tilting to the left at an angle of about 20 degrees and as soon as this happened, we heard a very loud sound, which was almost like an accident, the wing of the plane started hitting the pavement, he said that I think the plane engine also slipped on the runway. Halifax Airport has been temporarily closed as a precaution.

The third accident happened in Oslo, Norway

The third accident happened in Norway. The KLM plane landed at Torp Sandefjord Airport at 7:14 pm local time, luckily all 182 people on board the plane are safe, including crew members. The plane took off from Oslo at 6:55 pm, but passengers and crew reported hearing a loud sound soon after takeoff. KLM said in a statement that a loud sound forced the pilots to turn towards Torp ki for safety. Local media reported that the pilots saw smoke coming out of the left engine. After this the plane was landed, however the plane could not be controlled on the runway and slid off the runway and stopped in the grass.
