Trump swearing in ceremony: S. Jaishankar will go to America; will attend Trump’s swearing in ceremony on January 20

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, at the invitation of the Trump-Vance Inauguration Committee, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Donald J. Trump, the 47th President of the United States. During his visit to Washington, Jaishankar will also hold meetings with representatives of the incoming Trump administration of the United States.

New Delhi : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will attend the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected US President Donald Trump on January 20, 2025 In fact, Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. In the US presidential election held in November last year, Trump got 312 electoral votes and Harris got 226 electoral votes. A candidate needs 270 electoral votes to get a majority in the election.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, during his visit to Washington, Jaishankar will also hold meetings with representatives of the upcoming Trump administration of the US. On the invitation of the Trump-Vance swearing-in committee, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of President Donald J. Trump, elected as the 47th President of the United States. During the visit, the External Affairs Minister will also hold meetings with representatives of the future administration of the US as well as some other dignitaries coming to the US to attend the ceremony.

Trump’s victory was officially announced on January 7

Earlier, Trump’s victory was officially announced on January 7. During this, the Electoral College votes were counted in the joint session of the US Parliament Capitol Hill. This process was chaired by Vice President Kamala Harris. Kamala Harris is the President of the Senate.

Path cleared for taking office

After the meeting, Kamala Harris announced that Trump will take charge of the presidency on January 20. She had made a similar announcement for the results of the vice-presidential election. Harris said that Trump’s fellow Ohio Senator JD Vance got 312 votes. With this, the US Congress certified the victory of the country’s newly elected President Donald Trump and cleared the way for him to take office on January 20.

Invitation to Indian American ‘Dhol Band’ also

An Indian American ‘Dhol Band’ has also been invited to participate in the parade to be held after Trump takes oath. This parade will be taken out from Capitol Hill (US Parliament complex) to the White House (official residence and office of the President of America). According to the information, the Texas-based Indian traditional ‘Dhol Band’ group ‘Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak’ will present a glimpse of India’s rich musical traditions to the world during this event in Washington with its lively rhythm and passionate tune, which will be seen by millions of people around the world. This is the first time that an Indian traditional ‘Dhol Band’ group from the state of Texas will perform on such a grand stage.
