Mark Zuckerberg is once again in controversy. He has said something about India in a recent podcast that is being severely criticized. Even the parliamentary committee is going to summon Meta. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has also written a post on social media X on Tuesday tagging Meta. He has expressed disappointment over Mark’s statement. Let’s know what is the whole matter.
Facebook founder and META CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s trouble may increase. The parliamentary committee will summon Facebook’s parent company Meta. Nishikant Dubey, chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on IT and Communication Affairs, has given this information in his post. He has posted about this on the social media platform X.
He wrote, ‘My committee will summon Meta for this wrong information. Wrong information of any democratic country tarnishes the image of the country. That institution will have to apologize to the Indian Parliament and the people here for this mistake.’
Mark is being criticized
In this case, IT and Communication Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had already responded to Mark Zuckerberg. He posted on X and wrote that the world’s largest democracy, India, held elections in 2024, in which 64 crore people participated. The people of India showed confidence in the NDA government working under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He wrote, ‘Mark Zuckerberg’s claim that most of the ruling governments of the world, including India, have lost the elections held after Covid, is wrong. ‘ In fact, Mark Zuckerberg said in a podcast that after Covid, many governments around the world have lost the elections held in the year 2024, including India.
What did Mark Zuckerberg say?
Mark has said this in Joe Rogan’s podcast. He said that this defeat of the governments shows that people’s trust has decreased after the Covid pandemic. He also said that people’s trust has decreased due to rising inflation, economic policies related to the pandemic and how the governments handled COVID-19.
However, his claim is wrong in the context of India, after which he is being continuously criticized. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav also tagged Meta while posting on X. He wrote that it is very unfortunate that Mark Zuckerberg himself gave wrong information. At the same time, Nishikant Dubey has talked about summoning Meta in this matter.
