Strict action should be taken in the matter – Foreign Ministry

Randhir Jaiswal said in the weekly press briefing, ‘We have expressed deep concern to the British authorities about the breach of security by Khalistani and extremist elements and we want strict action to be taken in this matter.’ He also said that this incident makes it clear what kind of support or license has been given to such elements and Britain’s attitude has been negligent towards their efforts to terrorize, threaten and obstruct India’s legitimate diplomatic work.

‘What kind of action is taken against the accused’

He said, ‘This incident is just one side of the coin, which shows what kind of freedom has been given to such elements.’ He also said that ‘despite the statement issued by the UK Foreign Ministry, our response will depend on what action is taken.’ Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had strongly condemned the protests by Khalistani separatists and the breach of security during Jaishankar’s visit.
