A mop-up day will be organised on September 4 , 2024 in which children and adolescents who have missed the medicine intake will be given the medicine. This will improve their health and nutrition level, prevention of anemia, intellectual development and school attendance. Deworming will be done by administering the deworming drug Albendazole by teachers and Anganwadi workers, in which children between 01 and 02 years will be given half a tablet (by grinding), children between 02 and 03 years will be given one tablet (by grinding), children between 03 and 05 years will be given one tablet by chewing, children between 06 and 19 years will be given one tablet by chewing and children and adolescents between 06 and 19 years will be given one tablet by chewing and fed with water.

Due to worms in the body of children, some common adverse effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, mild stomach pain and fatigue may be experienced. Apart from this, children who have acute worm infection may usually have some temporary effects, which can be easily cured by taking care in school and Anganwadi centers.
If these symptoms are found in children and adolescents, give them clean drinking water and keep them under your supervision. It is necessary to give deworming medicine twice a year. On National Deworming Day, children will be given one Albendazole tablet each in schools and Anganwadi centers. Special attention will also be given to such children and adolescents who do not go to school.
According to experts, there can be many types of problems due to worms in the stomach. Parents should be aware of such symptoms. Due to worms, children do not feel like studying and their interest in eating decreases. Children will eat more, but it will not get absorbed in the body. By feeding Albendazole tablets, children can avoid becoming victims of anemia. This provides relief from mental stress and the child’s health remains good. It is necessary to feed deworming medicine to children between 01 to 19 years for mental and physical development.
