Operation Sindoor: ‘Information was given to Pakistan only after Operation Sindoor’, Jaishankar’s reply to Rahul’s allegations

Regarding the Indus Water Treaty, the Parliamentary Committee asked the government whether it will maintain the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty or the government has taken this step only symbolically. On this the government said.

A parliamentary committee meeting was held on Monday May 26 , 2025 the issue of cross-border terrorism. In this meeting, the government shared its strategy regarding cross-border terrorism, giving full details of diplomatic initiatives and other efforts. In a meeting with the Parliament’s Advisory Committee, the government told that terrorist bases located in Pakistan, which were the center of terrorism, were targeted. This has hurt the morale of the Pakistani army as it could not protect the terrorist camps.

Government’s response on the Foreign Minister’s alleged information about the attack
The government said that India has received global support in this fight against terrorism. On the other hand, Pakistan did not get support from anyone except three countries – Turkey, Azerbaijan and China. In the meeting, the Congress raised the controversy of the Foreign Minister allegedly informing Pakistan about the attack. On which the government clarified that ‘there was no conversation of any kind between India and Pakistan except at the DGMO level, and that too happened only after the attacks. First the terrorist bases were attacked, then PIB issued a press release. After this, India’s DGMO contacted the Pakistani DGMO. The Foreign Minister called the allegations leveled against him by the Congress as dishonesty and a misrepresentation of events.’

Government’s statement on the suspension of Indus Water Treaty

Regarding the Indus Water Treaty, the Parliamentary Committee asked the government whether it will maintain the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty or the government has taken this step only symbolically. On this, the government said that at present the Indus Water Treaty is suspended and whatever steps will be taken in the future, Parliament will be informed about it.

What did the government say on Trump’s claim

The Ministry of External Affairs appealed to the Parliamentary Committee to maintain national unity and told that under this, delegations of all-party MPs have been sent on a tour of various countries. In the meeting, the MPs questioned the claim of US President Donald Trump, on which the government told that America and other countries had advised India to talk with Pakistan, but they were told that terrorism and talks cannot go together.
