Raipur recognised as a promising clean city of Chhattisgarh along with 2 other included in “Super Cleanliness League”!

Raipur: Seven cities of Chhattisgarh have spread the shine of their cleanliness in the Swachh Survey 2024-25 of the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. ‘Bilha’ Nagar Panchayat has now become the cleanest city in the country among cities with a population of less than 20 thousand. In the Swachh Survey, Bilha has secured the first position in the country in the category of cities with a population of less than 20 thousand. Bilaspur has got second place in the whole country among cities with a population of three lakh to ten lakh and Kumhari has got third place among cities with a population of 20 thousand to 50 thousand.

President Draupadi Murmu on Thursday July 17, 2025 awarded these three cities and 4 urban bodies with a total of seven urban bodies of the state for their excellent performance in the Swachh Survey in a grand ceremony organised at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Saw, Mayors, Chairpersons and Officers of the concerned bodies received these awards. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu also attended the award ceremony.

Ambikapur, Patan, Vishrampur and Raipur have also increased the prestige of Chhattisgarh at the national level in the Swachh Survey 2024-25 of the Government of India.

Ambikapur, Patan and Vishrampur have made a place in the new category ‘Swachhata Super League’ (SSL) included for the first time in the Swachh Survey.

This honour was given to those cities which have been in the top three at least once in the last three years and are among the top 20 cities in the current year.

Ambikapur has secured its place in SSL in the 50 thousand to three lakh population category and Patan and Vishrampur in the category of cities with less than 20 thousand population.

Besides the capital Raipur has received the ‘Promising Clean City’ award of Chhattisgarh.

Congratulating all the winning urban bodies, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that this achievement is a proud moment for the state. Appreciating the collective efforts of citizens, local bodies and administration towards cleanliness in these cities, he said that these awards will also inspire other cities of the state to make their cities beautiful and clean.

Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Arun Saw also congratulated the awarded urban bodies today and said that this is not only an honour for Chhattisgarh but also an evidence of continuous efforts towards cleanliness. In the coming time, other urban bodies will also receive national awards for cleanliness.

From urban governments to state and central governments, everyone is continuously working with many innovations to make the cities clean, beautiful and commodious.
