In a program organized in Varanasi, UP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today the world economy is going through many apprehensions. There is an atmosphere of instability. In such a situation, the countries of the world are focusing on their own interests. India is also going to become the third largest economy of the world. Therefore, India also has to be vigilant about its economic interests. Our farmers, our small industries, employment and interests of the youth are paramount for us.

US President Donald Trump recently called India’s economy a ‘dead economy’. In response to his taunt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a strong message from Varanasi and said that India is now on the way to becoming the third largest economy of the world. PM Modi made the countrymen pledge to adopt Swadeshi and said that now the time has come that every Indian should give priority to the country’s interest in every purchase.

The Prime Minister clearly said – Now India will also use only one scale to test everything – that is, things made from Indian sweat. He said that now the time has come when every citizen of the country, every shopkeeper and every consumer should adopt this mantra that we will buy only that which is made in India, which is forged by Indian hands and which has the sweat of our country. In the era of global instability, it is not only the responsibility of the government but of every Indian to make India the third largest economy.

The Prime Minister said that today the economy of the world is going through many apprehensions. There is an atmosphere of instability. In such a situation, the countries of the world are focusing on their own interests. India is also going to become the third largest economy of the world. Therefore, India also has to be alert about its economic interests. India will also have to give priority to issues like its farmers, small industries, youth and employment.

He further said, India will now have to be alert. There will be only one scale for which thing to buy – that in which the sweat of an Indian citizen has been shed. We will buy only those things which are made in India. Made with Indian skills, made by Indian hands. This is the real Swadeshi for us.

Every citizen should become a promoter of Swadeshi’

Prime Minister Modi did not limit this resolution to the government or political parties but said that it is the responsibility of every citizen. He said, the government is making every effort in this direction. But as citizens of the country, we have some responsibilities. Not just Modi, every person of India should keep saying this every moment – should keep telling others. Those who want the good of the country, those who want to make the country the third largest economy, they will have to leave their hesitation and awaken a feeling in the countrymen every moment in the interest of the country – that is the resolution, we should adopt Swadeshi. Modi made it clear that ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ will now have to be made a part of practical life, not just slogans.

‘Traders should sell only Swadeshi goods, this is true service to the country’

The Prime Minister made a special request to the traders and industry of the country and said, now the time has come that only and only Swadeshi products should be sold. He said, I warn the brothers associated with the business world – now only Swadeshi goods should be sold at our shops. This will be the true service of the country. When new goods come to every home, they should be indigenous, this should be our priority.

This statement of PM Modi has come at a time when issues like global trade pressure, Russia-Ukraine war, debate on imports from China and America’s tariff policy are at the center of discussion on international forums.
