Chhattisgarh Emerges as a Role Model in Public Relations: Maharashtra Officials Impressed by Functioning of DPR and Chhattisgarh Samvad

Raipur : A high-level delegation from the Directorate General of Information and Public Relations (DGIPR), Government of Maharashtra, was on a three-day official visit to Chhattisgarh from August 5 to 7, 2025.

The primary objective of the visit was to observe and study the innovative practices and effective systems adopted by the Chhattisgarh government in the fields of information dissemination, public relations, and communication of government schemes.

The visiting delegation comprised six senior officials, including Maharashtra’s Deputy Secretary Samruddhi Angolkar and Director Kishor Gangarde. During their visit, the team closely studied the operational mechanisms of the Department of Public Relations, Government of Chhattisgarh, and its associate body, Chhattisgarh Samvad.

The officials undertook an in-depth review of the department’s functioning, including systems such as e-News Clipping, e-RO (Release Order) System, e-Publication, Journalist Accreditation and other Welfare Schemes for Journalists. They also gathered detailed insights into the organisational structure, operational workflow, and technological innovations implemented by Chhattisgarh Samvad.

During the visit, the delegation paid a courtesy call on Dr. Ravi Mittal, Commissioner, Department of Public Relations.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mittal stated, “It has been our consistent effort to ensure timely, transparent, and effective communication of government schemes and public welfare policies to the people. The unique balance between technology and a human-centric approach is what defines our system. We are delighted that other states are showing interest in these innovations. This kind of inter-state knowledge exchange is a positive and constructive step forward.”

The delegation also visited the Directorate of Public Relations office located at Indravati Bhawan, where they directly observed the functioning of various branches and witnessed departmental activities firsthand.

Additional Directors J.L. Dariyo, Umesh Mishra, and Sanjeev Tiwari provided the Maharashtra delegation with a detailed briefing on the department’s major activities, operational models, and use of digital tools.

Members of the visiting delegation appreciated the innovative practices being implemented by the Chhattisgarh government in the field of information and public relations and expressed keen interest in exploring their applicability in Maharashtra.

Also present during the occasion were several officers from the Department of Public Relations and Chhattisgarh Samvad.
