Pragatians Celebrate Basant Panchami 2026 with zest by wearing yellow

Basant Panchami festival holds great significance for the Hindu community who pray to Goddess Saraswati and wear yellow coloured clothes. Goddess Saraswati worshipped by the teachers and the students to guide them to excel in their field.

Raipur : Pragati College, Choubey Colony celebrated Basant Panchami with prayers and offerings to Goddess Saraswati. The ceremony began with the college principal, Dr. Soumya Nayyar garlanding and lighting a lamp before the image of Goddess Saraswati.

Students present at the college offered songs in front of the goddess of knowledge, Saraswati.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Soumya Nayyar highlighted the significance of Basant Panchami, stating that the flow of knowledge is continuous and will continue forever. Education is also a form of knowledge that is given to others and acquired by oneself, thus expanding knowledge.

She further encouraged all the students present to acquire education wholeheartedly and to share their knowledge with others.

The event was attended by the Head of the Education Department, Dr. K.N. Gajpal, , Administrator, Jyoti Thakur, Head of the Commerce and Management Department, Dr. Amit Thakur,Head of the Computer Science Department, Mannu Rawani, Head of the Journalism Department, Dr. Praveen Yadav, and all the faculty members and students.
