Mumbai: Elections are to be held in Haryana and in Jammu and Kashmir being held .The result will be declared in the month of October. Amidst these elections, the team of the Central Election Commission is in visit of Maharashtra for three days to review the preparations for the assembly elections. The team of the Central Election Commission will hold meetings with various stakeholders of the state and the political parties.
In the afternoon, there will be a meeting between the Chief Election Commissioner and the nodal officers. Afterwards the team will hold a meeting with the officials of paramilitary forces, Income Tax Department, Intelligence Agency and ED for security arrangements in the elections.
Today evening, there will be a meeting of the Election Commission with the Chief Secretary of the state and top police officials. The purpose of these long meetings will be to know the current situation of Maharashtra and review the situation regarding the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections.
