State Tourism Board joins 26 travel and hospitality partners at three-day TTF, showcasing Chhattisgarh’s natural landscapes, tribal culture, heritage and emerging destinations
Raipur: Chhattisgarh has stepped up efforts to position itself more prominently in India’s domestic tourism market, showcasing its destinations and hospitality opportunities at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, from August 6 to 8, 2026.
The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board set up a 100-square-metre pavilion at the three-day event, bringing together 26 registered travel agents and hotel operators from the state. The participation provided tourism businesses an opportunity to interact directly with tour operators, travel agents and hospitality-sector representatives from different parts of the country.
Rather than focusing on a single destination, the Chhattisgarh presentation highlighted the state’s wider tourism portfolio — its waterfalls and forests, tribal and folk traditions, historical heritage, religious destinations and opportunities for nature and adventure tourism.
The participation comes as the state government seeks to expand Chhattisgarh’s visibility beyond its traditional tourism markets and develop stronger connections with the country’s organised travel industry.
Tourism Businesses Explore Chhattisgarh Opportunities
According to the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, travel industry representatives visiting the pavilion showed interest in the state’s destinations, tourism facilities and possibilities for developing new travel packages.
The presence of 26 tourism businesses alongside the Board was particularly significant as it allowed potential partners to move beyond destination promotion and discuss practical business opportunities, including accommodation and tour packages.
Several new travel agents, tour operators and tourism businesses also expressed interest in registering with the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, potentially expanding the network through which the state can market tourism packages nationally.
The Gandhinagar fair brought Chhattisgarh alongside several major tourism destinations and organisations. The Union Tourism Ministry and Gujarat Tourism participated in the event, along with Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Rajasthan, Goa, Maharashtra, Kerala, West Bengal, Uttarakhand, Punjab and Delhi, among others.
State Seeks Wider Place on National Tourism Map
The participation is part of a broader strategy under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai to use Chhattisgarh’s natural and cultural assets as drivers of tourism, employment and local economic activity.
The state is seeking to combine destination promotion with infrastructure development and greater involvement of private travel and hospitality businesses. Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal has also emphasised participation in national and international tourism platforms to introduce Chhattisgarh’s destinations to wider markets.
For Chhattisgarh, such business-to-business tourism events offer an opportunity to address one of the key requirements of destination development: converting awareness of its waterfalls, forests, heritage and tribal culture into organised travel itineraries that can actually bring more visitors to the state.
The Gandhinagar showcase therefore represents more than promotional visibility. By bringing the Tourism Board and private tourism businesses onto the same national platform, Chhattisgarh is attempting to build the commercial connections necessary to translate its largely untapped tourism potential into visitor arrivals, employment and opportunities for local enterprises.
