Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Saturday, August 22, 2026, placed education at the centre of social advancement, calling upon the Kanwar community to ensure that every child receives the education and opportunities needed to realise his or her potential.

Addressing the oath-taking and plantation programme of newly elected office-bearers of the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Kanwar Samaj Vikas Samiti at the Krishak Sabhagar of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University in Raipur, Sai said education, values and opportunity would determine the future progress of society.

“Education is the fundamental mantra for the development of society. The progress of any community depends on the education, values and opportunities provided to its future generation. It is our collective responsibility to ensure that no child is deprived of education and that every child gets an opportunity to develop his or her talent.” — Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

The Chief Minister administered an oath of social service and faithful discharge of responsibilities to the newly elected office-bearers. He also paid homage to the forces of nature and distinguished figures of the Kanwar community, while young men and women presented cultural performances during the programme.

Sai said the Kanwar community had a proud history and recalled the contribution of Sant Gahira Guru, saying the path of education, values, service and social unity shown by community leaders should guide efforts to build a brighter future for the younger generation.

He also described the unanimous and unopposed election of the community’s office-bearers as a reflection of organisational strength and unity.

Education Must Go Beyond the Search for Government Jobs

Sai urged community leaders to accord the highest priority to education, stressing that its purpose should not be confined to securing government employment.

“Good education is equally necessary to become a successful entrepreneur, businessman, social worker, public representative, industrialist or responsible citizen. Education gives a person the ability to make decisions and shows society the direction of progress.”

He said the state was expanding opportunities for quality education and preparation for competitive examinations, including through 17 Prayas schools, and urged financially capable members of society to support children from needy families and encourage talented students.

“With a new atmosphere of peace and confidence, new opportunities in education, employment, self-employment and entrepreneurship are also opening up in Bastar, Sai remarked..”

Sai announced more than ₹1.55 crore for the construction, development and renovation of Kanwar community facilities at different places.
