UP By-Election: By-elections are being held on 9 assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh today. In this voting, the reputation of the ruling BJP and the opposition Samajwadi Party is at stake. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh BJP has written a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer of the state alleging that votes are being cast on fake identity cards in the Meerapur assembly constituency of Muzaffarnagar district, “People coming from outside have been accommodated in mosques, madrasas and lodges of the district.” The party has also alleged that women wearing veils are being allowed to vote without checking their identity and taking advantage of this, men are coming to vote wearing burqa.
