UPDATES-Bengal Bandh: Streets Deserted, Airlines Issue Advisory, Heavy Force Deployed
The BJP called for a 12-hour bandh in West Bengal on Wednesday August 28 to protest against the police action on those who took part in the march to state secretariat Nabbana on Tuesday August 27 . The West Bengal government said that the administration will ensure that normal life is not affected during the strike that began at 6 am.

Amid massive clashes in Bengal, major airlines on Wednesday August 28 issued alerts on transport and traffic disruptions asking passengers to monitor road conditions and their light status. Vistara, IndiGo, and Spicejet released travel advisories alerting passengers about transport issues amid Bangla Bandh. Airlines have asked people to plan their journeys with extra travel time amid massive clashes in several areas in West Bengal.
