Investigation has begun into the case of burnt notes found at the house of Delhi High Court judge Yashwant Verma. The Supreme Court’s internal committee has started an investigation into this case.

The Supreme Court’s internal committee has started an investigation into the case of alleged recovery of huge amount of cash at the house of a Delhi High Court judge. A team of three members of the internal committee appointed by the Supreme Court arrived for investigation.

According to the information received, the three-member team includes Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Sheel Nagu, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court Justice GS Sandhawalia and Justice Anu Sivaraman of Karnataka High Court. They have reached the official residence of Justice Verma.

During the investigation, the committee members stayed inside Justice Verma’s official residence for about 30-35 minutes. During this, they inspected the spot. The alleged cash was recovered after a fire broke out at Justice Verma’s official residence on the night of March 14 at around 11.35 pm. After which fire officials reached the spot and extinguished the fire. After this, on March 22, Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna constituted a three-member committee to conduct an internal investigation into the allegations against Justice Verma.

Half-burnt notes were found from Justice Yashwant Verma’s house

Justice Yashwant Verma of Delhi High Court is in the headlines these days, ever since a fire broke out in his Delhi residence and while extinguishing the fire, the fire brigade and police recovered a large amount of half-burnt notes. This incident is of March 14, when firefighters and police personnel allegedly recovered cash after a fire broke out in the storeroom of Justice Yashwant Verma’s official residence in the posh area of ​​Lutyens Delhi.

Judge Verma flatly denies the allegations
Taking cognizance of the incident, Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna has constituted a three-member panel to investigate the discovery of four to five half-burnt sacks full of Indian currency notes. However, Justice Yashwant Verma strongly condemned the allegations in the case and said that neither he nor any member of his family ever kept cash in the store room of his house.
