According to officials, on Tuesday November 5, 2024, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted this raid on charges of illegal mining in the Lemon Hills area of the state. The CBI team raided a total of 16 places in 3 states, including Jharkhand, West Bengal and Bihar.
CBI Raid Jharkhand: Important information related to the raid:
Raid at 16 places during the raid: 14 places in Jharkhand 11 in Sahibganj and 3 in Ranchi, 1 in Kolkata (West Bengal) and 1 in Patna (Bihar).
CBI action: On the orders of the court, an FIR was registered in this case in November 2023.
Important recovery: The CBI team recovered Rs 50 lakh in cash, 1 kg gold and some silver jewelery during the raid. Apart from this, Rs 30 lakh has also been seized from various locations.
According to sources, this raid was conducted in three districts of Jharkhand – Sahibganj, Pakur and Rajmahal. The houses raided by the CBI in these districts are said to be linked to Pankaj Mishra. Besides the CBI team also raided Kolkata and Patna.
This major action has been taken in the illegal mining case of Rs 1200 crore, in which the CBI has conducted this operation to investigate the allegations of money laundering and corruption.
