CG Chief Secretary: IAS Vikassheel; The senior IAS officer of the year 1994 batch will be the next Chief Secretary of the developing Chhattisgarh.
CG Chief Secretary: IAS Vikassheel; A senior IAS officer of the 1994 batch, Vikassheel will be the next Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh. He will replace the current Chief Secretary, Amitabh Jain. Vikassheel was posted as Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank in Manila. He was recalled at the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Jain’s tenure ends on September 30, 2025. He was due to retire in June, but received a three-month extension. With Vikassheel’s appointment, the possibility of a major reshuffle at the secretary-level in the ministry has increased.
Vikasheel held several important responsibilities upon joining the Chhattisgarh cadre. He has served as the Collector of two major cities, Raipur and Bilaspur. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1994. He has held responsibility for several important departments in Chhattisgarh, including Finance, Industry, Health, and General Administration. He provided significant service as Mission Director of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
During his central deputation, he held senior positions in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
